In this futuristic novel, the main character gets of out prison to find out that his wife has died. In addition to this shock, he is offered a job by a man named Wednesday who turns out to be the Odin of Norse mythology. The premise of the novel is that the old gods are fighting for survival with the new gods (e.g., television).
